Samsung's 20.3 megapixel NX200 (ILC) unveils +PICS

Samsung has unviels the series to its NX100 interchangeable lens compact system camera in the shape of the NX200.

Samsung's new NX200 interchangeable lens camera (ILC) comes with a new 20.3-megapixel CMOS sensor, captures 1080/30p full-HD videos.

Compared with its predecessor the NX100, the NX200 has ISO sensitivity that now maxes out at 12,800 (from 6,400), burst-mode shooting speeds that reaches 7fps and now captures videos with stereo sound.

The fresh Samsung model also benefits from an all-metal body, as opposed to the plastic casing of the NX100. The new magnesium alloy chassis is further complimented by several notable performance boosts in key areas.

The camera  feature a 3in AMOLED screen on the back. It’s also possible to attach an optional EVF via the hotshoe accessory port, or indeed a GPS unit. The NX200 lacks a pop-up flash, although Samsung does make a NX-specific strobe that will slot into the hotshoe.

Sensitivity gets a boost from the NX100’s top setting of ISO 6400 up to ISO 12,800 on the NX200, with ISO 100 remaining as the base setting. Continuous shooting speed is also increased from 3fps up to 7fps (up to a maximum 11 frames). To help facilitate faster shooting, Samsung is also claiming to have implemented a super-fast (100-millisecond) Advanced AF system

Movie recording abilities are also improved with the new model able to record at 1920 x 1080/30p Full HD, with sound recorded in stereo and files stored in the H.264 format.
