Centennial Light, World's Longest Lasting Light Bulb since 1901

Did you Know the Longest Lasting Light Bulb in the world ever? There is a light bulb in 4550 East Avenue, Livermore, California that still emitting since 1901 least 110 years old, incredibly. It currently resides at the fire department's Station 6.

Blair Eisenbraun of elightbulbs say that, This Superbulb "Centennial Light" has survived several moves, many earthquakes, and even varying voltage (it went from 110 to 120 volts); it seems indestructible! The world's oldest still-burning light bulb is not an anomaly of its kind; even when it was built back in 1900, the Shelby-style light bulb was remarkable. During a series of challenges, Chailet's bulb proved to have the strongest filament, surviving increasing voltage levels while competitor light bulbs burned out. Not only did it survive, but it harnessed the voltage and just kept getting brighter!

The bulb has been noted by The Guinness Book of World Records Ripley's Believe It or Not!, and General Electric. because of its longevity. It is often cited as evidence for the existence of planned obsolescence in later-produced light bulbs.

According to Wiki; The Centennial Light is a four-watt, hand-blown, carbon-filament, common light bulb manufactured in Shelby, Ohio, by the Shelby Electric Company in the late 1890s; many just like it still exist and can be found functioning. According to Zylpha Bernal Beck, the bulb was donated to the Fire Department by her father, Dennis Bernal in 1901. Bernal owned the Livermore Power and Water Company and donated the bulb to the fire station when he sold the company. That story has been supported by firefighter volunteers of that era.

Evidence suggests the bulb has hung in at least four locations. It was originally hung in 1901 in a hose cart house on L Street, then moved to a garage in downtown Livermore used by the fire and police departments. When the fire department consolidated, it was moved again to a newly constructed City Hall that housed the unified departments.
Centennial Light, World's Longest Lasting Light Bulb since 1901

According to the fire chief, every few months a news outlet will publish a story on the bulb, generating visitors and general interest, then it will drop back into obscurity for a while. Dozens of magazines and newspapers have featured articles on the bulb. The bulb has been visited and featured by many major news channels in the United States, including NBC, ABC, Fox, CBS, WB, CNN and NPR.

The QFHD Resolution as 4K2K

What Is QFHD? In early 2008, Samsung revealed a proof-of-concept 82-inch LCD TV set capable of this resolution and LG has demonstrated an 84-inch display.

CMI has built a 27.84" 158 PPI QFHD IPS panel for medical displays since November 2010.

QFHD stands for Quad Full High Definition sometimes referred to as 4K2K is a display resolution of 3840×2160 pixels arranged in a 16:9 aspect ratio it’s exactly four times the resolution of 1080p. QFHD or Quad HD measures 3840 x 2160 pixels, and it’s a digital television format with the same widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio you are used to. QFHD is literally like stacking four (two-by-two) 1080p TVs together.

QFHD isn't quite 4K, but it still looked pretty amazing in person — leaves have never looked so much like leaves, models have never looked so much like people, that sort of thing. QFHD is better than 4K, it's 4 1080p streams, as opposed to 4Ks 4 720P streams!

Samsung Galaxy S3 Rumors And Prospect

Samsung Galaxy S3 will actually offer, well thus far it’s all been rumour, and there has been a rumour that the Galaxy S3 will be just an incremental upgrade, but if the spec rumours turn out to be spot on one can expect a 1.4 GHz quad core processor, a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED Play touch screen along with 12 megapixel rear facing camera.

This is the third generation release of the Galaxy S series and follows on from the Galaxy S2 offers yet more amazing hardware and software put together for a great smartphone. The handset is going to be the flagship of Android, particularly its latest version 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich which is soon to be available to most recent Android phones respectively. This intuitive new system includes a 3D holographic background with revolving icons reflecting the applications that you most frequently use and replacing the design of simply listing all apps as icons with an accompanying caption, regardless of whether you use the app much or or not. This OS will also be faster especially when it is powered by a probable 1.5 gigahertz processor which has been rumored to possibly be the quad-core Samsung Exynos offering supreme speed and efficiency including better battery life naturally.
samsung galaxy sIII s3.png

Here’s a integration of all the Samsung Galaxy S3 rumors and Prospect:

It will be called Samsung Galaxy S III GT I9300

Following Samsung's usual naming conventions, the next phone will most likely be called Samsung Galaxy S3 GT I9300. Multiple sources have confirmed this, and it’s quite improbable that the phone will follow any other nomenclature.

It will run Ice Cream Sandwich: Since a bit of time has passed since the launch of Android 4.0, there’s very little doubt that ICS will be the preferred OS for the highly-anticipated smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy S3 to boast 4.65in 720p Super AMOLED Plus display

Samsung’s Galaxy S III will boast a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED Plus display with 1280 x 720 resolution. DDaily reports that Samsung Mobile Display has started production on the upcoming Galaxy S3 screen, which is the first non-Pentile phone display from the Samsung’s OLED race to reach HD resolution.

The Samsung Galaxy S III GT I9300 will sport a Quad-Core processor

Multiple reports have suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will come with a Quad-core Exynos 4412 processor. Furthermore, rumors have hinted at an ample 2GB worth of RAM, and a 2250mAh battery. The processor is clocked at 1.5 GHz thus making Galaxy S3 one of the fastest devices in the market.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 will have a 12 MP camera

It has been reported that the phone will include a 12 megapixel main rear-facing camera which will be capable of capturing good quality photos along with fast High Definition video recording. The camera will also be built into the main body directly, thereby causing no bump.

The Samsung Galaxy S III will feature wireless charging a possibility

Hmmp futuristic! Could be yet another major advantage that this handset will carry over its main rival the Apple iPhone. If reports of a Korean site are to be believed.

Launch Date is May 3rd

Samsung has confirmed that the launch event will take place on May 3rd in London. As for what will happen at the event, Samsung had the following things to say:

"Samsung is looking forward to introducing and demonstrating exciting new mobile products at Mobile World Congress 2012. The successor to the Galaxy S2 smartphone will be unveiled at a separate Samsung-hosted event in the first half of the year, closer to commercial availability of the product."

Price

The pre-order pay as you go prices and contract deals previously mentioned offer the Galaxy S3 at £534.99 plus a £3.99 delivery charge for the prepay version and pay monthly contracts offer the phone free of charge from £31 per month.

How Mass Delete all Tweets on Twitter

Here's the apps that would help you on how to remove all tweets on twitter at one command.

Try TwitWipe apps. TwitWipe is a tool to wipe or delete all your tweets in one go. You may need to do this to start over, to clean it out before handing the account over to someone else, or maybe you've just realised how shitty your tweets are. And all this is free.

Think more times before you take away of your tweet in your account.

You can't get your tweets back. There's no undo button. I don't want to make TwitWipe back up tweets, because that sounds lame.

How To Use (TwitWipe) Application?

1. Visit TwitWipe Login page.

2. In the right there is an option to grant access to TwitWipe application. You need to grant TwitWipe access to your Twitter account.
sing in with twitter.png
3. After the second step, at the same place where the grant access to TwitWipe application link appeared, there will now be a link named “Start Wiping”. Click on Start Wiping.

4. It will now ask you to confirm your decision. There are two options “Yeah!” or “No!!” If you have decided to delete all tweets click on Yeah or if you don’t want to delete your tweets, you can click on No and go back always!
authorize twitwipe to use your account.png

About signing in: TwitWipe uses oAuth, so you don’t need to give out your password for this to happen. Although it’s very unlikely that you’d have to worry about even if it did ask you for the password, because it is, you know, deleting all your tweets! What’s the worst that could happen?

August 2012 – Facebook aquire Instagram

instagram logo.png
Instagram was founded by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger with 14 employees as of April 2012 the headquarters is located in San Francisco, California, USA.

Instagram initial release October 6, 2010; 17 months ago Founded in 2010 – a free photo sharing application that allows users to take a photo, apply a digital filter to it, and then share it on a variety of social networking services, including Instagram's own.

A distinctive feature confines photos to a square shape, similar to Kodak Instamatic and Polaroid images, in contrast to the 4:3 aspect ratio typically used by mobile device cameras.

Instagram was initially supported on iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch; in April 2012, the company added support for Android camera phones running 2.2 (Froyo) or higher. It is distributed via the iTunes App Store and Google Play.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the acquisition in a post on his Facebook Timeline Monday.

I'm excited to share the news that we've agreed to acquire Instagram and that their talented team will be joining Facebook.

For years, we've focused on building the best experience for sharing photos with your friends and family. Now, we'll be able to work even more closely with the Instagram team to also offer the best experiences for sharing beautiful mobile photos with people based on your interests.

We believe these are different experiences that complement each other. But in order to do this well, we need to be mindful about keeping and building on Instagram's strengths and features rather than just trying to integrate everything into Facebook.

That's why we're committed to building and growing Instagram independently. Millions of people around the world love the Instagram app and the brand associated with it, and our goal is to help spread this app and brand to even more people.

We think the fact that Instagram is connected to other services beyond Facebook is an important part of the experience. We plan on keeping features like the ability to post to other social networks, the ability to not share your Instagrams on Facebook if you want, and the ability to have followers and follow people separately from your friends on Facebook.

These and many other features are important parts of the Instagram experience and we understand that. We will try to learn from Instagram's experience to build similar features into our other products. At the same time, we will try to help Instagram continue to grow by using Facebook's strong engineering team and infrastructure.

This is an important milestone for Facebook because it's the first time we've ever acquired a product and company with so many users. We don't plan on doing many more of these, if any at all. But providing the best photo sharing experience is one reason why so many people love Facebook and we knew it would be worth bringing these two companies together.

We're looking forward to working with the Instagram team and to all of the great new experiences we're going to be able to build together.

Upgrading Laptop memory and Compatibility Checklist

Why we want to upgrade memory? More memory gives your PC the ability to run more applications, make windows easier to use and cuts down on hard disk activity, therefore increasing battery life. Many have integrated graphics processor that reduce the RAM available to Windows, as they use main memory instead of their own dedicated RAM.

In this type of system, Windows must use the hard disk as an overflow when it runs out of memory. This is undesirable in a particular computer as it hard disk is comparatively slowing and using it intensively reduces battery life. For as little as £20 including VAT, however you could you could add 2GB to your laptop, revitalizing its performance. Because space is at a premium inside laptops, they use physically smaller memory modules than those found on Personal Computer. Desktop use DIMM modules, while notebooks use the far more compact SODIMMs. That aside, laptop memory is much like desktop memory, with the same of technologies in use.

There are two main memory types  you're likely to encounter: DDR and DDR2. These aren't compatible, so it's so essentials you understand which type of laptop uses before buying more. Notebooks built in 2002 or earlier are likely to use SDRAM memory running at 66MHz, 100MHz or 133MHz. It's now difficult to buy SDRAM SODIMMs, and you should replace the laptop rather than spend your money in upgrading it.
Upgrading Laptop memory and Compatibility Checklist
Laptops made between 2002 and 2004 probably use DDR memory. Such laptops require PC2100 or PC2700 DDR memory, but some high-end models may use faster PC3200 modules. Your manual or the manufacturer's website should tell you what speed to buy.

Intel-based laptops built after 2004 may use DDR2 memory, available in PC2-3200, PC2-4200, PC2-5300 or PC2-6400 speeds. Only recent AMD-based notebooks with a Turion 64 X2 proccessor use DDR2 memory. Some of very latest laptops use DDR3 memory, which85 is currently available in only PC3-8500 speed most manufacturer. Look in the documentation for the correct speed to buy.

CHOOSING LAPTOP MEMORY:

To be sure you buy compatible memory, we just recommend that you use the configuration tools available on the websites or many big memory manufacturers, as discussed in the compatibility checklist below. It is fine to install faster memory than you laptop originally had as long as it supports it, but bear in mind that you should buy memory of the same speed as any existing RAM tha you're not going to replace. This is because faster memory could make your laptop crash ore refuse to boot. It's worth checking the label on your existing memory to find out the size and type of modules that are installed. For increased performance, some laptop operate their DDR OR DDR2 memory in dual-channel mode.

INSTALLING LAPTOP MEMORY:

Latop memory should be easy to install, provided you can readily access your computer memory slots. Refer you laptop's manual or its manufacturer's website for details on how many accessible slots there are.

Watch Changing or Replacing RAM on a Laptop.

OMPATIBILITY CHECKLIST:

Memory USE → You Can get idea of Windows' memory use by pressing Ctrl-Shift-Esc to run Task Manager on XP and Vista. If you need more momory, there wil be tell-tale signs in everyday use. Long program loading times, extensive hard disk activity and slow-downs in Windows are all indications of low memory.

Memory Slots → Most laptops have one or two memory slots under the keyboard or behind a cover on the base if none is empty, you can upgrade only by swapping existing modules for higher capacity equivalents. Don't buy more memory than your computer can handle. The 32-bit version of Windows can cope with 3.3GB the 64-bit version of the OS can handle more than the maximum amount of memory supported by all current laptops.

Memory Type → Before buying your memory modules find out your computers memory type from its manual or the manufacturer's website, or use the configuration tools at a memory such as www.kingston.com or www.crucial.com. If you model isn't listed, try the System Scanner tool on Crucial's websites. If all else fails, check the information sticker on a existing module.

AMI, Award and Phoenix BIOS Beep Codes

When you switch on or reset you PC it performs a diagnostic test called a Power-On Self Test (POST) to check that all the components are present and working correctly.

First, it checks core components such as the system clock, processor, RAM, keyboard controller and graphics card. If any device fails this part of the POST, you'll hear series of beeps sound from from the desktop computers.

After the graphics card has passed its test, the BIOS can then indicate any errors onscreen, such as the classic "Keyboard error or no Keyboard present. Press F1 to continue" message.
