HTC has released the video about their new Micro Arc Oxidation (MAO) process which is Thin But Strong, Doesn't Need a Case, More Durable Casing. Amazingly new ideas thousands times.

To create the extremely durable, premium finish for HTC One S we use a process called micro-arc oxidation.

Originally designed for use on satellites and race cars, the process starts with aircraft aluminum. Ten thousand volts of electricity hit the metal, almost like lighting strikes, causing a microscopic transformation which creates a super-strong ceramic case that is five times stronger than aerospace aluminum.

Luxury design company Brikk introduce a iPhone Trim, precision luxury cases for iPhone 4 and iPhone 5, profits from which will be converted to metric tons of rice to be donated to benefit those in need around the world.

Starting with a solid block of space grade titanium, 98% of it is milled away using multiple tools spinning at a few hundred times per second. Over a dozen seperate machines are involved in the manufacture of the Trim.

Finishing consists of three special coatings that are applied in a clean room environment, molecule by molecule in a vaccum chamber to provide a thickness of a fraction of a micron.

The Trim is available in Gold, Platinum, Gray Stealth or Black Diamond Carbon cost from $3,000 to $4,500 depending on finish. The raw titanium, an uncoated and unfinished - or matte - iPhone case retails for $2,630.
