Nokia unveiling True PureView Windows Phone

Nokia is reportedly working on a true PureView Windows Phone, which will include a sensor similar to the one found on the company’s 41-megapixel 808 handset.

According to The Verge, the phone will be made out of aluminum rather than the polycarbonate typically found in Nokia’s Lumia line. Slated to launch on AT&T later this year, the handset –- code-named EOS — will be one of several Lumias sporting a new design. Nokia is also reportedly working on its own Windows 8 tablet to debut later this year.

2013’s Lumia will likely continue that tradition, providing high-resolution, high-quality photos, especially in low-light situations.

The World's Online Marketplace eBay refresh the company logo, simple font, but with the same color scheme.

The logo retains Ebay's multiple colors, but the letters in the company name no longer overlap or float around at different heights. Instead, the letters – now in a skinnier font – touch but don't overlap and are all lined up.

"Our vibrant eBay colors and touching letters represent our connected and diverse eBay community," company President Devin Wenig said in a news release.

Apple CEO Tim Cook unveiled the latest updates to Apple's line of smartphones in a special event at Yerba Buena Arts Center in San Francisco.

From Apple Press Info:

SAN FRANCISCO—September 12, 2012—Apple® today announced iPhone® 5, the thinnest and lightest iPhone ever, completely redesigned to feature a stunning new 4-inch Retina™ display; an Apple-designed A6 chip for blazing fast performance; and ultrafast wireless technology*—all while delivering even better battery life.** iPhone 5 comes with iOS 6, the world’s most advanced mobile operating system with over 200 new features including: the all new Maps app with Apple-designed cartography and turn-by-turn navigation; Facebook integration; Passbook® organization; and even more Siri® features and languages.

“iPhone 5 is the most beautiful consumer device that we’ve ever created,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “We’ve packed an amazing amount of innovation and advanced technology into a thin and light, jewel-like device with a stunning 4-inch Retina display, blazing fast A6 chip, ultrafast wireless, even longer battery life; and we think customers are going to love it.”

iPhone 5 is the thinnest smartphone in the world, with an all-new 7.6 mm anodized aluminum body that is 18 percent thinner and 20 percent lighter than iPhone 4S. Designed with an unprecedented level of precision, iPhone 5 combines an anodized aluminum body with diamond cut chamfered edges and glass inlays for a truly incredible fit and finish.

The new 4-inch Retina display on iPhone 5 delivers even more pixels than iPhone 4S, making the already incredible Retina display even better. By making the screen taller, not wider, iPhone 5 is just as easy to use with one hand so you can tap, type and scroll the same way you always have, while enjoying even more of your content including amazing apps optimized for the larger Retina display, widescreen HD video, a full five days of your Calendar and more of every web page.

iPhone 5 supports ultrafast wireless standards including LTE and DC-HSDPA, so you can browse, download and stream content even faster. To support the latest LTE technology, Apple has pioneered a unique single-radio LTE solution that provides blazing fast speeds while fitting perfectly into the new remarkably thin design. iPhone 5 features dual-band 802.11n Wi-Fi support for a wireless experience up to 150 Mbps.***

The new camera is completely redesigned with incredible optical performance, yet amazingly it’s 25 percent smaller than the camera in iPhone 4S. The new iSight camera in iPhone 5 features a sapphire crystal lens cover that is thinner and more durable than standard glass with the ability to provide crystal clear images. The new panorama feature lets you capture jaw-dropping panorama images of up to 28 megapixels by simply moving the camera across a scene in one smooth motion. New video features include improved stabilization, video face detection for up to 10 faces and the ability to take still photos as you record. A new FaceTime® HD front facing camera makes FaceTime calls incredibly clear and can also be used for self portraits and recording 720p HD video. iPhone 5 also allows you to share photos with friends and family using iCloud’s Shared Photo Streams.

iPhone 5 features the new Lightning™ connector that is smaller, smarter and more durable than the previous connector. The all-digital Lightning connector features an adaptive interface that uses only the signals that each accessory requires, and it’s reversible so you can instantly connect to your accessories. The Lightning-to-30-pin Adapter is also available to connect iPhone 5 to legacy 30-pin accessories.****

iPhone 5 introduces new enhanced audio features including a new beam-forming, directional microphone system for higher quality sound, while background noise fades away with new noise canceling technology. iPhone 5 now includes support for cellular wideband audio for crisper word clarity and more natural sounding speech. Wideband audio will be supported by over 20 carriers worldwide at launch. iPhone 5 comes with the new Apple EarPods™ featuring a breakthrough design for a more natural fit and increased durability, and an incredible acoustic quality typically reserved for higher-end earphones.

Kindle Fire has 22% of US market say Amazon

Amazon claims the Kindle Fire successfully accounted for 22% of tablet sales in the United States (U.S.).

From Agence France-Presse:

Amazon, which has scheduled a September 6 news event in California widely believed to be a launch for a new version of its tablet, has normally kept its sales data tightly guarded.

But the latest news suggests it has sold several million of the tablets in the US, which is expected to see 2012 sales of some 35 million. The Kindle Fire was launched in the fourth quarter of 2011.

"Kindle Fire quickly became the most successful product launch in the history of Amazon.com, earning over 10,000 5-star customer reviews, and is the number one best-selling product across the millions of items available on Amazon since its introduction 48 weeks ago," Amazon said in a statement.

"Today, Amazon announced that Kindle Fire is sold out, and that in just nine months, Kindle Fire has captured 22 percent of tablet sales in the US."

Jeff Bezos, Amazon's founder and chief executive, gave the strongest hint to date that a new version of the tablet will be coming.

"Kindle Fire is sold out, but we have an exciting roadmap ahead. We will continue to offer our customers the best hardware, the best prices, the best customer service, the best cross-platform interoperability, and the best content ecosystem," he said.

Apple's iPad has about two-thirds of the global market for tablets, and the company is expected to introduce a smaller version of it later this year.

The Kindle Fire costs $199, less than half the price of the cheapest iPad.

It has a seven-inch (17.78-centimeter) screen, smaller than the iPad's 9.7 inches (24.6 centimeters), connects to the Web using Wi-Fi and is powered by a modified version of Google's Android operating system.

Amazon said separately it was launching its Amazon Appstore in Britain, Germany, France, Italy and Spain, offering Android apps.

"Customers in the US have purchased millions of apps, games, in-app items and subscriptions since the store launched last year," said Jim Adkins, vice president of Amazon Appstore.

"Amazon has spent years developing innovative features that help customers find and discover the products that are right for them and have applied that know-how to the Amazon Appstore. We're delighted to extend that experience to our European customers."

Yesterday, we asked you how you're feeling and by far, the most popular answer was "hungry"! What does this have to do with Google Search, you ask? We recently added some other emotions to our I'm Feeling Lucky button, like artistic, wonderful, and of course, hungry. LG develop ultra-thin display panels for iPhone

Korean multinational electronics company LG is reportedly developing a thinner display panels with technology in-cell for the next Apple Smartphone iPhone.

Reuters reports that LG company has ordered the mass production of a batch of 4-inch displays in preparation for the unveiling of Apple's new handset next month.

"We just began mass production and we don't expect any disruption in supplies," LG Display's chief executive Han Sang-beom told reporters.

The screens are said to feature an in-cell panel that eliminates the need for the touch-screen layer underneath, allowing for a slimmer form factor. A 4-inch display would bring the iPhone range in line with competitors such as the Samsung Galaxy S3.

Adobe released security updates for Adobe Flash Player

Adobe has released a critical patch for its Flash and AIR applications, following the discovery of yet more serious security vulnerabilities in the software.

Affecting users of Windows, Macintosh, Linux, Chrome OS and Android, the flaws include four memory corruption vulnerabilities, an integer overflow vulnerability, and a cross-domain information leakage issue. You should be careful resorting to other methods to get Flash back, though, as multiple malicious Flash .apk files have been making rounds across the internet.

In its notification regarding the updates, Adobe admitted to the seriousness of the issues. 'These updates address vulnerabilities that could case a crash,' the company explained, 'and potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system.'

That latter, of course, is the key: while system crashes are irritating, the flaws in Flash and AIR mean that an attacker could potentially load a malicious file into a website and automatically execute arbitrary code on visiting systems - potentially taking full control of the targets with very little effort.

The updates area available to download from Adobe now, and we'd certainly recommend that you do so if you value your system's security.

Most Expensive Google AdWords in Online Advertising [Infographic]

Google AdWords
Google makes a supreme selling advertising – nearly 97% of its revenue comes from advertising. In the U.S., 41% of all online advertising dollars go to Google. Ever wonder which keywords are the most expensive with Google AdWords?

WordStream, an online marketing company, analyzed the most expensive keyword categories for online advertising and found that keywords related to Insurance, Loans, Mortgage, Attorneys and Credit were the most expensive with advertising costs ranging between $55-$45 per click.

In the technology domain, the high-paying keywords are around web hosting, conference call services, CRM / help-desk software and data recovery software.
The advertising rates for such niches are so high for two reasons – there’s plenty of competition among advertisers so they have to bid higher to outbid the other and second, the return after winning a customer is extremely high. Image Credit: wordstream.com
