Dr. Charles Gerban in the environmental michrobiology department at the University of Arizona, What is the dirtiest Tech Stuff You Use Everyday, Infographic

What is the dirtiest Tech Stuff You Use Everyday?

What is the dirtiest of them all?

The remote control in a typical hotel room is considered dirtier than the toilet, sink handles, door handles, and even the infamous bedspread.

TV remote control is the single dirtiest item in a typical home, hospital, hotel room or pretty much anywhere they're found. The remote is hotbed for contagious germs and viruses.

The only key is that you either wipe your germ-infected devices with a soft tissue soaked in an alcohol solution or the other option is that you wash your hands often. You can view a larger version of the info-graphic.

The computer runs too slowly? Remove unnecessary programs

Each Laptop, Personal PC are filled with useless software installed by the manufacturer. Let's see which programs you must get rid of and how to do it.

Buy a laptop with an installed operating system. In most cases, it is now Windows 7 While this is good and fast system, software installed on your computer by the manufacturer (so called crapware) can make the new computer will not function optimally, and its use may prove to be a chore.

Let's see where unnecessary programs, we can get rid of (and how), and which applications are worth attention.

Are all applications are useless?

Utility functions can check yourself by running them and devoting the time to test them. If the software will fall to us to taste, you should leave the program and use it.

unnecessary windows programs, Optimize Windows, Better performance, Maintenance, repair, and operations

Why uninstall the crapware?
Each installed program takes up space and some applications to run with the system.
Uninstalling unused programs, so we gain disk space, memory and CPU resources that can be used in the software used by us. Purified from crapware'u system will start up and shut down faster, in many cases also operate more efficiently and the battery will slowly discharge.

In addition, we gain comfort, because nothing will clutter up your start menu and we will not have to react to announcements of unused programs.

What do not you remove?
If, after testing the operation of programs installed on a laptop, some we like, then simply leave them on disk and use. If the security suite is installed (such as Norton Internet Security) version of the limited time, you should use a trial period and only after its completion to consider buying a full version.

Many additional applications (such as multimedia software CyberLink) is also installed in the trial version. If the programs we like, act according to us better than their free alternatives, we wait for the end of the trial period and pay for the full version.

What can I do to increase the capacity of hard disk? Season with salt it!

Hard disk capacity can sextuple with 'pinch of salt', sextupled with table salt, hard disk drive, hard disk price, sata hard disk
Singapore Institute of Materials discover how you can do several hard drives to increase capacity. Just add a little salt ...

Dr. Joel Yang of R & D center Singapore Institute of Materials found a way to fit even several times larger number of bits in the same area, as is the case today. It turns out that just add a bit of common table salt. How is that possible?

Hard disks are coated with tiny magnetic pellets, separated by a few nanometers, thus creating the island, formed in the process nanolitografii. Dr. Yang found that by adding to the process a little salt, you can repeatedly increase the recording density on the surface of the disk, because salt is used to produce better, although not smaller granules, which appropriately manipulated, can turn into a unit of information, instead of cake each other in the island.

A group of scientists led by Dr. Yang has already demonstrated the storage capacity of 1.9 terabit, zmieszczoną on the surface of 6.5 square centimeters. It is about 4 times more than current hard drives get. According to the researchers, using this method you can get up to 3.3 terabit per square inch, which will translate into a 18-terabyte hard drives!

How a hard drive works - Watch the nice informational video below:
