Twitter Joins the Linux Foundation Reports

Online social networking service and microblogging service Twitter Joining the Linux Foundation.

From Pcworld:

Following in the footsteps of Broadcom, Nvidia, and Samsung--all of which joined the nonprofit consortium recently--none other than Twitter will announce on Tuesday that it is joining the foundation as well.

“Linux and its ability to be heavily tweaked is fundamental to our technology infrastructure,” said Chris Aniszczyk, manager of open source for the social networking giant. “By joining the Linux Foundation we can support an organization that is important to us and collaborate with a community that is advancing Linux as fast as we are improving Twitter.”

Twitter's Aniszczyk will deliver a keynote entitled “The OSS Behind a Tweet” at the foundation's LinuxCon conference in San Diego next week.

How Mass Delete all Tweets on Twitter

Here's the apps that would help you on how to remove all tweets on twitter at one command.

Try TwitWipe apps. TwitWipe is a tool to wipe or delete all your tweets in one go. You may need to do this to start over, to clean it out before handing the account over to someone else, or maybe you've just realised how shitty your tweets are. And all this is free.

Think more times before you take away of your tweet in your account.

You can't get your tweets back. There's no undo button. I don't want to make TwitWipe back up tweets, because that sounds lame.

How To Use (TwitWipe) Application?

1. Visit TwitWipe Login page.

2. In the right there is an option to grant access to TwitWipe application. You need to grant TwitWipe access to your Twitter account.

3. After the second step, at the same place where the grant access to TwitWipe application link appeared, there will now be a link named “Start Wiping”. Click on Start Wiping.

4. It will now ask you to confirm your decision. There are two options “Yeah!” or “No!!” If you have decided to delete all tweets click on Yeah or if you don’t want to delete your tweets, you can click on No and go back always!
authorize twitwipe to use your account.png

About signing in: TwitWipe uses oAuth, so you don’t need to give out your password for this to happen. Although it’s very unlikely that you’d have to worry about even if it did ask you for the password, because it is, you know, deleting all your tweets! What’s the worst that could happen?

Twitter Now surpasses 100 million Active Users

Twitter reveals it has 100m active users.jpg
Twitter surpass 100 million Active Users Twitter reveals it has 100m active users Service says it averages 230m tweets a day and its website has 400 million monthly browsers in flurry of fresh statistics.

Private companies usually don't release much in the way of specific information on their own. Today, according to AllThingsD.com, that changed for the Twitter social networking service. Speaking at a press conference today, Twitter's CEO Dick Costolo said that the service currently has 100 million active users. However, the Twitter.com web site has 400 million monthly visitors. That means that a lot of people who check out Twitter are either not active users or haven't got a Twitter account at all. Even among the active users, Costolo said that 40 percent of them don't actually "tweet" their own messages; they simply read the tweet written by the other 60 percent of active users. In addition, 55 percent of active Twitter users access the service via mobile products.

These current numbers for Twitter are already much higher compared to the beginning of 2011. August 28, Twitter recorded a record setting 8,900 "tweets" per second generated by its users, thanks in part to a number of events like Hurricane Irene, the announcement of pop singer Beyonce’s pregnancy and more.
